Beautify and format YAML documents with standardized indentation.
Format and indent XML documents with proper nesting and tag alignment.
A lot of configuration written in XML a decade ago now needs to be YAML, because that is what modern deployment tooling reads. Translating it by hand is tedious and error-prone β every element becomes a key, every repeated element becomes a list item, and YAML's indentation rules punish any slip. This converter does the mapping for you: elements become keys, text content becomes values, attributes are preserved, and elements that repeat are collected into sequences rather than producing duplicate keys. The output is indented correctly and quoted where a bare value would be misread. Paste the XML and copy the YAML. It runs entirely in your browser, so legacy configuration containing internal hostnames, connection strings, or credentials is never uploaded to anyone's server.
Elements that appear more than once under the same parent become a YAML sequence, which avoids producing duplicate keys β something YAML does not allow.
They are preserved as keys within the element's mapping, so identifiers and metadata carried in attributes are not lost in the conversion.
Because YAML would otherwise reinterpret them. Text such as yes, no, or a numeric-looking string is quoted so it stays a string.
Yes. Prefixed element names are handled, though the prefix becomes part of the key since YAML has no namespace concept of its own.
It is not well-formed. Check for unclosed elements, mismatched tag names, unquoted attribute values, or more than one root element.
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser and the document is never transmitted or stored.
