How this redaction works

Any page with a redaction box is fully rasterized (converted to a flattened image) before download — the original text and vector content for that page are not carried over to the output, so there's nothing left to select or extract underneath the black boxes. Pages with no redaction boxes are left as-is (still selectable text), since they weren't marked sensitive.
